It is a tale of a young boy, blessed with both beauty from his mother and strength from his father. However, tragedy struck his life from the very beginning, as his mother died when he was too young to even remember, leaving him to face the world without her gentle touch. His father, seeking solace and companionship, remarried, and the boy soon found himself surrounded by step siblings and a stepmother.
Fate had more in store for this young boy. The village he called home was soon engulfed in a fierce war with a neighboring tribe. It became the duty of young men including him, to protect their beloved village. As young men stood ready to defend their people, the family would send provisions to sustain the brave souls stationed at the outpost. It was a small gesture, but it carried the warmth of their love and support, reminding the young men that they were not alone.
The stepmother, however, had another plan as she was consumed by her contempt for the young boy. She insisted on taking the food meant for her stepson, and would discard the nourishment and return home, deceitfully claiming she had fulfilled her duty. Meanwhile, the young boy stands steadfast in his loyalty, dutifully guarding his village.
Days turn into empty and hollow nights, as the food he so desperately needed never reached him. Until one fateful day, the gnawing hunger became an unbearable burden weighing him down. Summoning every ounce of strength, he crawled up the treacherous mountain and brought forth his instrument. With trembling hands, he released his anguish as he plucked the strings and a haunting melancholic melody echoed down the hill.
In that moment, he whispered to the wind, “I may confront the enemy’s fury with unwavering courage. The sword and spear hold no fear for me. Yet, the ultimate defeat lies not in battle, but in the treachery of those we hold dear.”
